12 March 07 VIRGIN NIGERIA ELEVATES ADEOLA BALI
Lagos, Nigeria: 12 March 2007: Virgin Nigeria has announced the appointment of Adeola Bali to the position of Finance Director. She was until recently the Head of Planning of the airline.
Announcing the appointment, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Conrad Clifford said:
"There is an over-arching imperative for our business to take control of costs and financial reporting and Adeola's appointment is coming at an auspicious time to realize core business targets".
"Adeola's key responsibility will be working with the Finance team and all Departmental heads to take control of the management and reporting of costs and deliver systems and processes in accordance with guidelines drawn up by our Board and Shareholders", Conrad further said.
Commenting on her appointment as the Finance Director, Adeola said
"It has been an exciting time working for Virgin Nigeria and my promise is to rise up to the enormous challenge of meeting the demands that my new position bestows on me by effectively producing results that are in tandem with Virgin Nigeria's business objectives"
Adeola started out her career as an audit trainee with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in December 1989. She then spent several years in Financial Services Regulation working with the Financial Services Authority and was responsible for the regulation of LIFFE and LME firms.
Before joining Virgin Nigeria in October 2005, Adeola Bali was Head, Human Capital Management of Oando Plc. Prior to assuming the role of Head, Human Capital at Oando, she was responsible for the management change programme following the Unipetrol and Agip merger. Adeola holds a BSc in Economics and Accounting from the University of Southampton and also, she is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
Adeola is happily married with children and her interests include
travelling, organizing charity events and mentoring.
