19 February 08 WE PAY OUR BILLS PROMPTLY – VIRGIN NIGERIA
Lagos, Nigeria: 19 February 2008: Virgin Nigeria wishes to inform the public that as a socially responsible corporate organisation, all bills for services rendered to Virgin Nigeria by Government regulatory agencies within and outside the aviation industry are promptly paid.
The Chief Financial Officer, Mr. John Roijen noted that the public clarification has become necessary in the face of unwarranted attacks against the airline. “The accounts sections of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and representatives of the finance department of Virgin Nigeria have records which are frequently reconciled and at no time have we defaulted in paying our bills”, John said.
He also noted that apart from the timely payment of bills, Virgin Nigeria has invested heavily at its own cost on infrastructures in airports across the nation, which the airline operates into.
John Roijen reiterated Virgin Nigeria’s commitment to work harmoniously with relevant authorities towards the attainment of a viable aviation sector in Nigeria.
