VIRGIN NIGERIA LAUNCHES DAILY FLIGHTS TO WARRI

Lagos, Nigeria: 19 March 2008: Virgin Nigeria will on Tuesday March 25 begin daily flights to the oil rich city of Warri in Delta State. The introduction of this route brings to 10 the number of national destinations operated to by Virgin Nigeria. It will also offer more destination options to customers from Delta State, as they can connect via Lagos to many other domestic, regional and international destinations on Virgin Nigeria’s network.

With the launch of this route, customers will now have the benefit of greater connectivity within the wider route network, competitive fares as well as Virgin Nigeria’s unique service offerings such as our Frequent Flier Programme (eagleflier), online booking and payment options.

Director of Sales & Marketing, Mrs. Adeola Bali who made the announcement in Lagos, said the introduction of flight services to Warri is in response to customer demand and the strategic nature and economic importance of Warri which cannot be ignored.

Mrs. Bali commented: “Virgin Nigeria is currently in a very exciting phase in her operations. The launch of Warri marks another milestone as Virgin Nigeria further extends its reach in the Niger Delta region, thereby providing a convenient and an alternative means of transportation for the people of the region”.

Virgin Nigeria will operate daily flights using a turbo prop aircraft from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos to Osubi Airport, Warri. The outbound flights are scheduled to depart Lagos at 1200 hours and arriving Warri at 1300 hours while the inbound flights will depart Warri at 1340 hours and arriving at 1440 hours.

At the just concluded Dubai Air Show, Virgin Nigeria announced an order for 24 Embraer aircraft. The order consists of E170s and E190s jets. Delivery of the first aircraft is scheduled for September 2008.
